About the FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot Course
This two-day ground school course covers everything you need to successfully set you and your team up as safe and responsible drone operators. Whether you have one drone or a fleet, becoming an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot is the first legal requirement.

What to Expect
The Ground School consists of two days of classroom learning. This will be facilitated by Consortiq instructors, all with extensive background in unmanned aviation. The course is designed to help you gain your Part 107 certificate.
The emphasis during this stage is practical application through case studies and discussion. We will see how the theoretical knowledge is applied to the real-world operations you will be carrying out on a daily basis.
Through flight planning exercises, we will bring together all the theoretical elements to ensure that a good understanding of how they work in the field.

Course Requirements
What You’ll Need
- Laptop, tablet, or another device with internet browsing capabilities
- sUAS Operations Essentials digital textbook & Quick Reference Handbook (includes sample forms & checklists) – provided by Consortiq
There are no restrictions on attending one of our courses, however the following requirements must be met and maintained by a person applying for the Remote Pilot Certificate:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
- Be in a physical and mental condition that would not interfere with the safe operation of a sUAS
- Pass the initial aeronautical knowledge test
- Have a successful background security check by the TSA
