Drone Consultation
Want to make your use-case come to life? With drone consultation, our experts help you develop a plan and create goals for your drone program!
UK OSC Service
If you want to operate outside the standard permissions in your Operating Authorisation, whether that’s flying closer to people or structures, using a swarm, or spraying crops, you’ll need to apply to the CAA for an Operating Safety Case or OSC. It can be a daunting process, so why not use our expertise to get it completed more efficiently.
What's in a Drone Consultation?
Our tailored drone consultation packages follow aviation best practice techniques and cover a range of disciplines. We offer unique drone solutions that allow clients to validate any assumptions about the commercial viability of unmanned technology before committing further investment. Our goal is to create a safe, secure, compliant, and cost-effective drone use strategy for your organization.
The UAS strategy review will build the long-term vision and process architecture with an associated roadmap for how to reach that vision in a controlled and safe manner. Our methodology includes an initial scoping exercise during which we will interview the key stakeholders of the drone operation before undertaking a review of operational safety, UAS data and transmission security and process compliance.
This can also be broken down into three (3) sections, including equipment evaluation, operations manual guidance, and a training plan.
Our hardware evaluation package is perfect for those just starting in the drone industry and want to future-proof spending. We will undertake a suitability assessment of all equipment being used for short, medium and long-term objectives, including the platform, sensors, and communication equipment. We will also analyse and evaluate any advantages and disadvantages of alternate hardware.
An operations manual is the foundation of starting a successful commercial drone operation and establishes how you intend to plan, operate and review your operations. It’s a complex, comprehensive document and is the central hub around your missions, so it’s important to get it right.
If you are already using drones, we can review your existing document to ensure it is appropriate for your operation and more importantly, help you put systems in place to validate it. If you’re new to drone operations, we will provide guidance to successfully create your manual. Consortiq™ has helped over 1,000 pilots and organizations write their operations manuals.
Training is the foundation to every successful drone operation and with our industry-renowned courses, your team will be fully equipped to handle any flying situation. We offer a range of training packages including ones specifically tailored to suit your organisation’s needs. As a UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved provider of training, our commercial drone training offering is second-to-none.
Our Unmanned Aircraft Qualification (UAQ) is the stepping stone to getting your drone pilot certification anywhere in the world, including the U.S. and the U.K. The course covers everything from risk identification and management to flight planning and scenario-based skills.
Along with the initial regulatory requirements we can also provide an assessment of further training required to appropriately manage the risk of a growing operation as well as pilot currency and an operationally specific training framework. We also offer night flying skills, EVLOS, and BVLOS training.
Regardless of the size of your operation, companies can experience operational drift. The easiest way to realign this is to work with existing pilots to assess their workflow and procedures. As part of the UAS safety audit, we will provide expert advice on:
- Accident & investigation policy
- Operator training program
- Logs & records
- Qualification requirements
This will enable us to identify high risk areas quickly and objectively audit the entire operation against the ICAO safe operations’ framework. We will provide recommendations to improve safety and systems to proactively identify issues.
