Consortiq and Optelos at the Energy Drone Coalition Summit 2018

The Energy Drone Summit in Houston Texas was an outstanding three-day event. Consortiq was fortunate enough to share a booth with Optelos, an automated drone Data Analytics Company with whom Consortiq recently formed a collaboration with at Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) Xponential in Denver in May.  Representing Consortiq at booth 401/403 was Bryan McKernan (Consortiq LLC VP) and Bryce Allcorn (Global Service Delivery Manager) standing side-by-side with Cullen Prince (Optelos Director, Business Development).

Bryan and Bryce delivered live demonstrations of Consortiq’s drone fleet management software, CQNet, while discussing training options available to individual and commercial operators.  Cullen demonstrated Optelos’ drone data analytics software, which was an enormous hit.

Bryce said, “We’ve discussed both multi-rotor and fixed wing training options alongside CQNet to manage all aspects of flight management; the flight planning, hazard information, checklist, asset logging, maintenance management, and much more.”  Bryan marveled at the number of attendees who were looking to implement drone technology into their operations.  “The variety of industrial subject matter experts who have visited us this week has been amazing!  They range from drone as a service companies looking to have greater control of all their contractors to ensure high UAS operational competency rather than the bare bones approach that sits with Part 107, to major energy companies that are looking to standardize their contract UAS operators.  Other organizations were exploring the possibility of bringing operations in-house by building up their own fleet of operators and providing oversight of their own operations manuals, procedures, and processes.  Some organizations wanted a hybrid of both in-house operations and drone as a service companies to fulfill their operations.”

The Energy Drone Summit sits as one of our favorite events to date with terrific engagement, excellent presentations in a superb location, and the event staff was incredibly accommodating.  We could not have asked for a better event and are thankful to the Energy Drone Coalition.  We look forward to next year!
