Consortiq is pleased to announce that Bryan McKernan has been selected as a steering committee lead for training under the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International’s (AUVSI’s) prestigious Trusted Operator Program (TOP).
TOP is a platform for remote pilots and training organizations to demonstrate their reliability and professionalism, and Bryan, Vice-President of Consortiq North America, is privileged to be joining this worthwhile effort.
“It is an honor to be selected to serve as a TOP steering committee lead for training alongside prestigious companies like Dartdrones, Unmanned Safety Institute, King Schools and Flight Safety Services, as well as 34 other TOP brand ambassadors,” he says.
“Having trained over 1,000 operators in the UK and the US, I think Consortiq can contribute significantly to developing training standards that will ensure operators are qualified and assessed to fly safer in the national airspace.”
Consortiq is a recognized National Qualified Entity (NQE) in the UK in accordance with the Civil Aviation Authority’s regulations, and under this delivers training and assesses students’ ability to fly.
“Leveraging off this success, I think Consortiq is uniquely qualified to develop standards in the US as well,” Bryan says. “We have been operating as an NQE for three years in the UK and have adopted that training model and implemented it into our US training program.”
In addition to serving as a lead for training, Consortiq is honored to serve as a brand ambassador in the public safety, energy/utilities, construction, pilot licensing/proficiency, instructor proficiency, standards and certifications, agriculture, and film and TV subcommittees for the program.
Consortiq will be present at AUVSI’s annual Xponential exhibition and conference, which will be held this year in Denver, CO from April 30th-May 3rd. There, the company will showcase its innovative and market-leading CQNet drone management software and will also share its experience as a training provider with its peers in the industry.
“We are very excited to develop and shape the standards in the US for training in the unmanned world,” Bryan noted. “We look forward to the outcome in May at Xponential.”
