Drone Professionals

Our drone consultancy team includes commercial, safety, legal and technical expertise to ensure drones are deployed safely. Consortiq's aviation professionals are experienced in manned and unmanned aviation with a team of former military and civilian pilots, air traffic controllers, and air traffic management engineering professionals.

We have built a team of experts that understand not only the technology, but also its application within specific industries and the different challenges each operating environment presents.

Once we undertake an initial audit of any existing UAS operations and understand your high-level strategy, we will build a business case for the safe deployment of drones on your behalf.

By working with Consortiq, you will have access to our market-leading integrated drone ecosystem that includes software, safety management systems, training, and hardware procurement support.

How We Work

Our tailored UAS consultancy packages follow aviation best practice techniques and cover a range of disciplines. Our solutions allow clients to validate any assumptions about the commercial viability of unmanned technology before committing to further investment. Our goal is to create a safe, secure, compliant, and cost-effective UAS strategy for your organization.

UAS Strategy Review

The UAS Strategy Review will build the long-term vision and process architecture with an associated roadmap for how to reach that vision in a controlled and safe manner. Our methodology includes an initial scoping exercise, during which we will interview the key stakeholders of the drone operation before undertaking a review of operational safety, UAS data, and transmission security and process compliance.

This can also be broken down into 3 sections including equipment evaluation, Operations Manual guidance, and a training plan.

Hardware Evaluation

Our Hardware Evaluation package is perfect for those just starting in the drone industry and want to future-proof spending. We will undertake a suitability assessment of all equipment being used for short, medium and long-term objectives, including the platform, sensors, and communication equipment. We will also analyze and evaluate any advantages and disadvantages of alternate hardware.

UAS Operations Manual Support

An Operations Manual is the foundation of starting a successful commercial drone operation and establishes how you intend to plan, operate and review your operations. It’s a complex, comprehensive document and is the central hub around your missions, so it’s important to get it right.

If you are already using drones, we can review your existing document to ensure it is appropriate for your operation and more importantly, help you put systems in place to validate it. If you’re new to drone operations, we will provide guidance to successfully create your manual. Consortiq has helped over 1,000 pilots and organizations write their Operations Manuals.

UAS Training Framework

Training is the foundation to every successful drone operation and with our industry-renowned courses; your team will be fully equipped to handle any flying situation. We offer a range of training packages including ones specifically tailored to suit your organization’s needs.

Our FAA Part 107 test prep and Drone Flight Essentials courses are the stepping stone to commercial drone operations in the US. The courses cover everything from risk identification and management to flight planning and scenario-based skills.

Along with the initial regulatory requirements, we can also provide an assessment of further training required to appropriately manage the risk of a growing operation as well as pilot currency and an operationally specific training framework. We also offer night flying skills, EVLOS, and BVLOS training.

As a member of the steering committee for AUVSI Trusted Operator Program (TOP), we are also actively developing train-the-trainer curriculum for the TOP qualification.

UAS Safety Audit

Regardless of the size of your operation, companies can experience operational drift. The easiest way to realign this is to work with existing pilots to assess their workflow and procedures. As part of the UAS safety audit, we will provide expert advice on:

  • Accident & investigation policy
  • Operator training program
  • Logs & records
  • Qualification requirements

This will enable us to identify high risk areas quickly and objectively audit the entire operation against the ICAO safe operations’ framework. We will provide recommendations to improve safety and systems to proactively identify issues.
