If there's a common thread to analysis of the drone industry, it's that the media sector has matured quicker than most others. Growth has been exponential, which means that Consortiq's corporate media clients are facing the big industry challenges before their counterparts in other sectors.
The big shift we're now seeing is procurement-led; a realization that drone operations, previously delivered only by external specialists, can now be brought in-house. But that's brought with it some challenges.
Drone training is one developing area. Consortiq is working with several large clients to develop bespoke training programs which satisfy the precise needs of operators. Where most drone courses have historically been 'one size fits all', we are single-minded about matching a training Program to the specialism for which it will be used.
The other big challenge is in risk management. Consortiq is ahead of the field in offering comprehensive safety management and audit systems to the media industry. These services seek to give pilots the ability to plan jobs quickly and efficiently (which is especially important in a news and journalism context) and allows managers to have sufficient editorial and regulatory oversight of the work being done by staff in multiple locations, even multiple countries.
